Second hand shop

So one of the workshops was second hand shop - take your clothes for free and make your own design!
We had a lot of old clothes, we collected them from ourselves, from our friends, from our relatives.

We bought some colors, we made stencils, one guy of our team made interesting design to some of the clothes and then we just let people do their creative work!

We didn't thought that people will like so much this workshop, on the second day there was only some clothes left and it was so cool to see during the festival that people where wearing clothes and going home with them!People wanted more clothes with Cita Vide logo, which showed they want to have something as memory from festival. And this was also good way to use do it your self  method for visitors. On the second day when there was a bit cold and rainy people took more warm clothes, jackets and trousers.

Tea house in Cita Vide

We had a really nice Tea house during the festival. Why tea house? Because there people could got hot tea for free. It was useful because the festival nights were already cold.

In Tea house everything was as we wanted to be, nice atmosphere, free tea, hot water, lights, tables from old doors, hay bags, video projections. Good idea was to bring old teapots and cups from our house. For video projections we used pictures from project Young, Active & Creative, as well historical photos from Ogres History and Art Museum, these video projections again made a special atmosphere in tea house.

During the day there was also East tea presentation which was interesting, there was possibility to try different teas as well.

One of the drawback was- tea house were too close to small stage and too far away in territory.  As it was dark colored in the night people just didn't noticed there is some workshop.
Tip for others- before the festival just put on the paper where exactly will be all workshop and other places. Our mistake was that all team members didn't knew were exactly will be all workshops. It was kinda of improvisation when people sat up festival territory :)

Something about workshops in Cita Vide

In our, Latvian, festival we had a different workshops during the festival. It was really long process before we decided which workshops we should have in festival Cita Vide.

Our work started at the beginning of project, when from all festival team 4 people were in group which was responsible about workshops  from A-Z  during the festival. We had two or tree drafts, before we made final workshops. So tip for others - It is not so easy as it looks like!

At first of course we had a lot of ideas, good ones, not so good, big ones, not so big. As our festival philosophy was- we are different from others, we wanted to make totally new workshops nobody had ever seen in festivals. Then we realized we don't have so big budget and some of our ideas we can not make real. We understood also, we can not again discover America. But all in all, now we think, that our workshops were quite interesting and unusual.

Tips
--- start doing everything in time. The biggest mistake you can make - to think you have plenty of time! NO YOU DON'T HAVE!

--- it is really important that all your team member is interested to gain common aim.
If not maybe it's better to work only with those people who want to work. Don't worry about people who not participate. Afterwards you will have more things to worry about, so forget about them!

--- make partnerships with other organizations, like technical schools, art schools, music schools, art, culture organizations
In our case in one workshop we made a deal with technical school in Ogre, that they will lead wood burning and bird house painting workshop and instead of this we will allow them put their banner in festival territory and put their logo in our web-page.
We think it was good deal, because there was one workshop and we had a less work and problems to worry about, but our visitors where happy.

--- if something goes wrong, pretend EVERYTHING IS AS IT'S NEED TO BE.
and the biggest mistake is to tell others that something went wrong, actually then don't know true so they would thing it was supposed to be. And when there is drawbacks you want to speak with other team members, do it in place where you are alone, with no visitors, journalists etc.

--- make friendship with journalists!
Before, during and after festival! In our case we had good relationships with journalists, but you could always do better!

Ups and downs in Ljuda's tent

We had great fun, we really did, with making the tent up and collaborating with people visiting it. There many ups and just few downs, actually.
The tent came out better than expected - it turned really cozy and people sometimes preferred to hang out there over staying in their own private tents.
Also, the activity from the public was underrated in the planning time and people turned out to be really friendly and cooperative.
There were some problems with artists planned to perform there not showing up but we quickly covered with other open-minded performers and the public were even more satisfied.
I am glad that the tent came out so well, I am actually even surprised about this outcome but there is a certain gratitude in having the public so nice and understanding and the smiles of the audience worked as payment for us, organizers.

/Dace, 20. gadi/

Apguvu jaunas lietas savā darbības jomā, kas man noderēs turpmāk, jo mācos reklāmas specialitātē.
/Lāsma, 20. gadi/

Nepatika, ka daudzreiz latvieši ļoti strīdējās savā starpā.
/Andris, 18. gadi/

Projekta laikā kolēģu nolaidība, neiecietība, bezkaunība, idiotisms un egoisms.

                                                                                                                                     /Edvīns, 18. gadi/

Festivāla tapšanas, implementācijas stadijā pietrūka profesionāla atbalsta un motivācijas.

                                                                                                                                   /Pēteris, 23. gadi/

Nepatika tas, ka tika izvēlēti tik dažādi cilvēki (15 jaunieši), kuri gan uzskatos, gan personībā bija ļoti dažādi.
                                                                                                                                   /Dita, 20. gadi/

Brīvprātīgo bija pārāk maz, pārāk slinki.
